MAC HAD been wrong on both accounts. He hadn’t had to worry about knowing the rules. Beyond being respectful of others, what he and Gunny chose to do or not do was totally up to them as was the case with the other members. He’d also been wrong in worrying about the green-eyed monster of jealousy rearing its ugly head. In fact he found great pride, walked with his chest a little pushed out, so fucking proud that he had the best-looking man in the club, at least in his opinion, and that was all that mattered. Oh, and he’d been wrong about one other thing too. He and Gunny should have done this years ago. The members were discreet and totally fucking cool.
“Mac, this is Bobby, Rig, and their beautiful boy, Mason,” Tackett said, pointing to each one as he said their names.
“Nice to meet you, and this is my beautiful boy, Gunny,” Mac greeted, puffing up even further.
The three stood in unison, Bobby and Rig still surrounding Mason, who seemed to shrink into them, and offered their free hands. “Welcome to the Guards of Folsom,” Bobby said. “Blake has told us about you, and we’ve been looking forward to meeting you.”
“You have me at a disadvantage, then,” Mac admitted.
“Well, sit a spell, and we’ll rectify that problem. Bobby and I are open books.” Rig sat and pulled his boy onto his lap. Mason instantly buried his face in Rig’s chest. Rig stroked a hand soothingly down Mason’s back and leaned in, whispering something in his ear. Mac couldn’t make out what was being said, but whatever it was had Mason nodding and he seemed to calm, snuggling further into Rig.
“Mason doesn’t do well with strangers,” Bobby said in way of explanation.
“Understandable. There aren’t too many stranger than me.” Mac chuckled and took a seat next to Bobby.
“Hang out here long enough, and you’ll be proven wrong,” Tackett laughed.
“Do you mind if I address your boy,” Rig asked respectfully.
Mac hesitated for a moment, shocked by the question, then caught up and remembered where he was. “No, no, go right ahead.”
“Blake has told us you served also.” Gunny nodded. “Thank you for your service as well.”
“Thank you, sir.”
Mac felt Gunny’s eyes on him and turned to see Gunny staring at him with a questioning expression. Mac wasn’t about to allow Gunny to snuggle up on his lap—they’d break the damn chair—but he was beginning to relax into his role and needed to step up his game and get Gunny into it.
“You can kneel next to me, boy,” Mac instructed.
“Yes, Sir.” Gunny eased down next to Mac, hands still clasped behind his back as he hung his head respectfully low.
Mac petted the short stubble on Gunny’s head, enjoying the way it felt against his palm and the way Gunny’s submission caused Mac’s pride and cock to swell.
